Tower Gardens · Skegness

Café Dansant

French for a tea dance — and the name of a café on Skegness’s Tower Esplanade in the 1920s.

  1. Teas & coffees
  2. Homemade cakes
  3. Treats & light meals
  4. A view of the gardens

1920s

The name came back.

The first Café Dansant ran on the Tower Esplanade in the 1920s, in the town’s early days as a seaside resort. Today’s café, in the Tower Gardens Pavilion, borrowed the name — a member of the public suggested it, for its history.

Doors open onto the gardens.

Café Dansant sits right at the front of the Tower Gardens Pavilion, behind large bifold doors with a panoramic view of the gardens. In warmer months the tables spill outside.
